About
Jess is a Developmental Educator with a background in community support work across a range of organisations and settings, supporting individuals of all ages. Over time, she has expanded her work into early childhood intervention, with a continuing focus on developmental delays and neurodiversity.
Jess is naturally calm, flexible, and understanding, qualities that shape how she builds relationships and supports individuals and families. Her work is grounded in genuine connection, respect, and an appreciation for each person’s unique strengths and preferences. Her practice is informed by human rights and a social model perspective, focusing on a person's strengths, capabilities and self-determination.
Alongside her community support experience, Jess has experience providing mentoring and counselling support to individuals with intellectual disability and acquired brain injury. These experiences have strengthened her understanding of diverse communication styles, individual needs, and the importance of person-centred practice.
Jess is passionate about discovering what matters most to the people she works with. She places strong emphasis on building self-confidence and everyday capacity, believing that meaningful progress happens when individuals feel supported, involved, and respected.
Her approach is collaborative and responsive, with support shaped around each person’s capacity, goals, and pace. Jess believes individuals should be actively involved in their own support, with ideas and strategies guided by what feels important and achievable to them.
“With enough time and dedicated effort, it can be wonderful to see an individual’s growth and continued progress toward their developmental goals. I believe building self-belief is where real progress starts—it’s what makes everything else feel more possible.”
Outside of work, Jess enjoys quieter, creative pursuits. She loves drawing and working on creative or technical projects, including learning the basics of Blender to help bring Kind Fox’s characters to life. She’s also a passionate plant enthusiast and shares her home with a variety of pets, including cats, dogs, birds, and fish
Jess looks forward to supporting you (or your family member) in a way that feels thoughtful, strengths-based, and right for you. 😄
