About
Jess is a Developmental Educator with a background in Community Support Work; and mentoring / counselling assistance at Flinders University. She has extensive experience working with individuals of all ages, and now specialises in early childhood intervention, specifically those who are neuro-diverse or developmentally delayed. She is passionate about discovering each individuals' strengths and being a support in building self-confidence and self-capacity!
Jess' approach can be described as calm, flexible and encouraging, where her approach is intended to be engaging and adaptable to each individuals capacity. Jess believes that each individual's unique preferences are at the centre of every idea or suggestion she provides, and encourages each person to be actively involved in finding out what is most important to them in therapy; while considering the pace at which they want to pursue their therapeutic goals.
"With enough time and dedicated effort, it can be wonderful to see an individual's growth and continued progress towards their DE goals. I think that building self-belief is where real progress starts, and is what makes everything else feel more possible to do."
Apart from work... Jess likes having fun but in a more relaxed kind of way. She has a strong passion for drawing or doing anything quietly creative or technical, including trying to learn the basics of Blender to make Kind Fox's lovable characters. She has a vast collection of plants (both indoor and outdoors) and many pets, including a cat, dog, birds, and fish!
Jess looks forward to supporting you on your own unique journey.
